The flight into Paro on our national carrier, Druk Air is a befitting introduction to the spectacular beauty of our country. In clear weather, magnificent views of the world’s highest peaks give way to the lush green Paro valley as you land. First gift from Bhutan will be the cool, clean fresh air as you step out of the plane. After your visa formalities you will be greeted by our representatives and drive you to Thimphu, capital city of Bhutan. Check in hotel and drive to visit National Memorial Chorten which is built in honor of the late King Jigme DorjiWangchuk.Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang) from where one can get a good overview of Thimphu valley. The largest statue in the country and then walk around and take a glimpse of the valley. From there drive towards North of Thimphu to visit Takin Zoo.Evening walk around weekend market. Dinner and overnight at Bhutan PeacefulResidency.

Gangtey –Alt. 2900m

Distance – approx.142 km/ 06 hrs

Afterdrive to Gangtey, leaving Thimphu the road climbs steeply through a forest of pine and cedar, festooned with hanging lichen high up near Dochula pass (3,050m). This pass often offers panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain ranges. Then  stop for tea and the view, continue your drive to  Gangtey, a valley which is well known as the winter home of the Black necked crane (Grus Nigricollis. Upon arrival visit GangteyGoemba and after the visit start a pleasurable walk (around 2 hours) that gives a nice feeling for Phobjikha valley.Dinner and overnight at hotel ABC Lodge.

Punakha – Alt. 1300 m

Distance – approx.71 km / 02 hrs 30 mins

After breakfast drive to Punakha, an ancient capital of Bhutan.

 Upon arrival visit Punakha Dzong, an ancient capital of Bhutan, spanning the Mo Chu and Pho Chu rivers. It is also the winter capital for the Central Monk Body Je Khenpo (chief abbot). And then drive towards the north of Punakha valley and hike for 50 minutes to see the KhamsumYuelleyNamgyalChorten – temple built to remove negative forces and promote peace,stability and harmony in the ever changing world. The Chorten dominates the upper Punakha valley with commanding views across the Mo Chu and up towards the mountainous peaks of Gasa and beyond, after visit walk down to road where your car will be waiting for you. Dinner and overnight at Dharma Siddhi.

 

Haa – Alt.2740m

Distance 185km (approx. 07 hours’ drive)

After breakfast in the hotel drive to Haa valley via Dochula Pass. Enroute stop at good place for lunch and than continue your drive to Haa via confluence where the road diverts one to Haa on your left and the right to Paro. The drive from the confluence is through the deep valleys and gorges and mixed forest until you reach Haa. Dinner and overnight at Haa Heritage.

Paro – Alt.2200m

Distance -65km/approx. 02 hours 30 mins

After breakfast drive to visit Lhakhang Karpo (white temple) and Lhakhang Nakpo (Black temple).After the visit drive to Paro over the Chelela pass (3899m). From the pass one can get a good view of the Himalayan Ranges and the valley beyond. Upon arrival in Paro drive for about 20 mins towards watch tower and from there your short Zuri hike begins, you will have to walk around 20 mins to get the beautiful view of Paro Dzong and river below it. Again you will have to walk for another 20 mins towards ZuriDzong. 5 mins walk from here you will be able to see the first view of airport if any flight coming in you can enjoy it landing. Descend for roughly 4 km towards Paro Dzong and walk across cantilever bridge, where your car will be waiting for you. Dinner and overnight at Rema Resort.

Tiger Nest-Alt. 3180m

 

After early breakfast drive to Ramthangkha to hike up to Taktsang monastery. Hike up to cafeteria will take around 02 hours. At the view point, enjoy the stunning view of the monastery, where Guru Padmasambhava landed on the back of a tigress in the 8th century. After rest at the cafeteria, it is another 1.5-2 hours to Tiger’s Nest. You can visit the main temples once you are at Tiger’s nest. After the visit walk back to the café and have lunch/tea and walk back to the motor-able road, where your car will pick you up. Then drive to view DrugyelDzong. In the evening drive short distance to farm house for Archery lesson and for dinner. Overnight atRema Resort.

After breakfast drive to Paro airport, where our representative will bid you farewell and happy journey back home.
